Arise work at home.

I recently had an experience with Arise that was less than acceptable. I invested hundreds of dollars in a computer, phone line, phone headsets, paper, ink and classes which ran for four hours a day for a month and costed me one hundred plus dollars. This is on top of paying for a background check and another tidy amount for "Arise certification." To make a long story short I passed the class with flying colors and had perfect attendance. When the class was over it came down to a fifteen minute phone call with the client Interval International in which I was presented several questions in rapid fire order by a person that was so heavily accented I could barely understand her. This is the person that ultimately had the final say whether I could be privledged enough to work for them, after two days of waiting, no dice.
Here is a copy of the e-mail that I sent to Arise.

To whom it may concern,

I recently took a training course for Interval International and passed with a 92. I have spent a minimum of a thousand dolllars to be ready to start this opportunity. I have had a seperate phone line installed and bought a new computer. I have gone through two hundred dollars worth of printer ink. I also paid for this class and did my due dillegence as far as class participation and homework. I get to certification which is a fifteen minute phone call and some adobe screens that function far from optimally. I make the phone call at the allotted time and they need a code that was not provided to join the session. I get the code that was sent at the last minute and call in only to be told to call at another time. I then call back at the new time and get drilled with many questions not correctly stated and I am expected to rapid fire these answers back, I had some problems doing this as the illiteration was not even close to proper. There was a language barrier to deal with and to base all of the time effort and money put forth in this endeavor to have a fifteen minute phone call determine the outcome is just flat wrong . Needless to say I am less than happy with this whole experience and am very tempted to post about it on my blog.

I have always had an aversion to paying for training to get a job. I should have followed my instincts. This experience is a black eye to your company and your business model. What exactly do you offer other than having people jump through hoops to meet all of your technical as well as training requirements only to have all of the time and money invested be based on an arbitrary 15 minute phone call and the decision to not hire based on one persons take of said call.

Incidentally, I never received a response from them. This whole thing started by answering a jub posting on Craigslist posted by what is known as a VSL by Arise. The name of this VSL is AWI Enterprises. Here is a copy of my correspondence with them.
Alma,

This is the e-mail I have sent to arise admissions. I have to tell you that I am not real happy with you either. You said you would reimburse for the class which I passed with flying colors. No mention of that from you in our phone calls and coorespondence. Alma I do not want to or have I ever wanted to Att support. You would not be doing me a favor by paying for it This whole experience is a nightmare. You might also want to be aware that when you send an offer for nine dollars an hour to be in your adobe rooms as an instructor or cheerleader as it were. I do not expect that when you send an e-mail to join said meeting the pay is minimum wage.

Sign me disillusioned and much lighter in the wallet,
Tom Simpson

Another one: Alma,

Burying information in the faq section is much less than forthcoming. I am seriously considering going public with this ordeal as I feel it is very predatory and false advertising. If you look closer at your faq page you will also notice that it is stated there will be financial benefit for finishing training in good standing. There is however no mention of actually being accepted for employment. Alma I am having a very difficult time reconciling this whole experience as I feel that this is nothing but a scheme. What benefit does the work at home person get from having a secure environment from the computer system. The benefit actually goes to the client at no expense to them only advantage, at no cost. Further I believe it to be only in the interest of the client IE Interval in this case to have no skin in the game as far as the cost of training. What do they have to lose in such a skewed relaionship.

Alma I was in the mortgage business for thirty years and witnessed the same type of predatory actions and the same kind of responses from various entities in the food chain when things went bad. I have mentioned to you repeatedly that AWI is ARISE is INTERVAL. Do not tell me again that you can do nothing because you can. I would have never become involved in this fiasco if you had never run an ad on Craigslist. Ultimatley in my mind you are the one that is culpable. I am sure that you are a very nice and honest person. That does not excuse you from the actions of your confederates.

I am very willing to give you the opportunity to make good on all of the money and time that I have spent pursuing this alleged "opportunity." I will give you a reasonable amount of time to make restitution for my time and cash expenditures before I go public, ie, letters to the editor, tv stations, better business bureau, blogs, craigslist to name a few about the lack of accountabilty and ethics contained within AWI and ARISE. I have a call into an attorney and will pursue any actions necessary to make this situation whole. I have also contacted one of my classmates in this ordeal and found that the pay is $12.00 an hour. You offered $8.00 per hour and still expect the forty dollars a month to come from the people that have signed up with your VSC. For what? So you can skim off of the top and leave everyone else making less than minimum wage. Alma I wish you the best of luck but be forwarned you may be setting yourself up to be in violation of the labor laws of the state and country. I know for a fact that it costs $50.00 to form an LLC in Colorado. What exactly do you offer for the $4.00 an hour difference. Nothing but empty promises and broken hearts if you ask me.

Sincerely,

Tom Simpson
The gist of this whole blog is just to warn you about this "opportunity" and the pitfalls contained within. Here also is link to a class action lawsuit in which Arise is one of the principals.

  2. Hello Tom,
I just signed on with AWI/Arise as a CSP (Customer Service Professional) to work with various companies per opportunities posted on the Arise portal website. I did a lot of research on AWI prior to signing on with this company and I did find a few negative comments/information regarding getting paid & getting assigned work at home jobs with Arise. I presented this to the CEO and she assured me that her company AWI is not affiliated with Arise per a CSP getting paid. She said they only use the Arise portal for job postings & training. She also said that AWI will be the company that will be repsonsible for paying the CSP as well as other employee oriented issues. We also had an online meeting with the new hires via Adobe Connect. It really seemed legitimate but now I really have doubts after reading this blog. If this is indeed a scam for lack of a better word, I would really be interested in exposing this to the public. It really is disheartening when a so-called company uses these types of schemes towards people who are hoping for a legitimate opportunity to work at home. We need to expose these culprits and possibly thwart other people from losing hundreds of dollars that they have invested for a chance to work at home only to find that they will never recoup the funds that were invested. Tom, how may I get in touch with you personally?

    1. I dont know about Alma but I do know ARISE is NOT A SCAM. I started working for arise in January of this year after i had my son. I did have to pay for a backround check and training but i think it was worth it. Im making money and I get to stay close to me son. I have had two clients with arise, intuit turbotax and direct energy and I passed both training classes and im now earning service fees. My SOW has ended for intuit turbotax but I still have direct energy and I think im going to go ahead and do another training class. If anyone would like they can email me at Tricnesheyad@yahoo.com and I can show you what I do so you will feel more comfortable starting work with Arise.

    2. You PAID for training? No legitimate company ask you to pay for training, or background checks!!

      Delete
    3. Hi, yes. Legit companies can ask you to do just that. Check out Arise Virtual solutions and the Better Business Bureau. They are rated A+.

      Delete
    4. From My understanding you are not an employee with Arise. One of the requirements is to be at least an LLC. The opportunities are Business to Business. So, I think paying for the training and background check are acceptable requests. If you are using Arise platforms, but you are not an LLC, then you are working for another company who is registered with Arise. That company is passing the cost to you.

  5. To all my AWI APPLICANTS , please dont buy a PC and other new equipments if you have an old PC you can use, if you need to buy bec your OLD PC is not compatible for our clients requirements, make sure you buy a NEW PC if you pass a course certification already so that you wont blame AWI for buying a PC and you failed , hey blame yourself for not passing a course certification bec its the client who will approve your calls not AWI nor Arise.
Just like if you own your company and you hire Customer Service Rep, will you take reps inexperienced and dont know what they are doing bec they purchase new PC for their business? If you own that company will you hire that agent bec he bought new PC even he is not qualified to pass certification bec he dont meet the call quality ? that dont make any sense

I dont know Tom why you published this bec I would be shy if I am on my later part of life that I dont end wisdom at all, once Il be 50 I wanna make sure I dont fail.

  8. Tom,
This is a positive thing that you post it, but I am so sorry for all your failures of certification ,its just like applying for jobs when you dont pass an INTERVIEW AND EXAMS you cannot be hired at all.
Unfortunately, I did help you for another course and you did not get certified again, AWI paid for that course even very expensive bec its a way of giving goodwill to my AWI family, yet still you did not pursue certification again, your success is from your bare hands just like you own a mortgage company and due to economy or whatever issues you have personal you fail and you joined AWI and you fail for a course certification which is really not my fault, neither not my partners fault ARISE and you are upset with all these, that is so sad I FEEL FOR YOU yet I cannot make you be certified if the client failed you for certification. Any clients you choose has certification process to check your skill and be ready to service. SORRY for all your effort and at least I know you tried to pass, thats why we have FAMILY HUDDLES sessions for enhancements daily weekly but Managers never even saw you attended before ,thses huddles are for you to be more skilled in your client certification, but several invitations you never attended bec you are busy and when you failed your course you have the time to blog here, which I really appreciate bec this is a learning blog to my new agents soon. I do have almost 500 agents working and thank goodness they passed their course certifications bec they are on it , those who are ON IT ! I AM INTO IT.
I will help as much as I can.

    1. Thank you Alma for clarifying my options for me. I will not be applying with AWI or ARISE or any affiliates. You insult Tom's intelligence, yet it is you who are ignorant. You obviously take part in running a very unprofessional establishment. You felt the need to create fake profiles to insult Tom and think that everyone will not notice how you all have very poor grammar, use the abbreviation "bec" and use the word don't when you should be using doesn't. How did you pass the interview process. If it is illegal for Tom to use your name or the companies names, it is illegal for you to make public his interview information and whether or not he attended webinars. You are not the sharpest knife in the drawer are you Alma? I'm sure after reading your responses, anyone who had reservations about applying to your company, certainly doesn't want to waste their time or money. (or should I say "noone is gonna wanna do that, it don't make no sense bec. you are an idiot)

  14. I saw this ad on craigslist as well and decided to research it. I believe your story Tom. It's hard not to believe when Alma is obviously embarrassed by you bringing their deception to light. The amount of insulting and disrespectful comments she has left just goes to show her ethic, and as she is a representation of the company, I can only expect the same from the company as a whole. I also think the comments left by "Jeremiah" and "J.Hissong" are really from Alma. Apparently she's not aware of her bad english and grammar, that are consistent in all of the comments posted. This company is clearly a SCAM. I feel sorry for those that are desperate enough to still try it.

  15. I agree with K Rodriguez. What kind of company responds to a well thought out, well written complaint with such childish and inappropriate responses. Also, they apparently have nothing better to do besides sit at a computer screen berating an online post (8 poorly written responses in 2 hours!?). Incredibly unprofessional and all but solidifies this company as nothing but a scam. Thank you for sharing your experience and shedding light upon this fraudulent company Tom.

  19. Yea, I was going to do this, but decided to check reviews online... because you never know! Tom thank you! ... AWI, Arise... you guys are on some serious damage control to write so many responses in such a short time. Additionally, I would figure a professionaly company wouldnt put the work or training results of someone in the comentary of a blog, regardless of what the blog entails.

Seems like you were given many opportunities to handle this before this post went up, however you neglected to. tisk tisk, now we all know what you are up to!

  21. So, Tom read bad reviews about Arise. Tom asked Alma if Alma IS "Arise." Alma assured Tom that she was NOT Arise and not affiliated with Arise. Now Alma is here, referring to Arise as her 'partner.'

I believe that is called FRAUD.

    ReplyDelete
  22. To all, Arise is very legit! AWI's business practices are very unethical and boarding on illegal. AWI has an inside person that can change scorecards/surveys in order for them to make more money on bonuses. This is a fact! I have proof! Legally they call that embezzlement!

Funny, I didn't even know this was happening until a few days ago and I don't want any part of it. I never even saw a dime of the money either.

Alma, you better get a good attorney because when I fly 3 hours down to Miramar to start my own IBO on May 16th for Arise's open house I will present my evidence. I am also going to make sure I present it to law enforcement.

I am not going to have you fuck me like you have so many others.

ps. I still service for you and you don't even know who is posting this. I wonder how that feels to have a whistle blower in your ranks.

  23. I am noticing the comments posted. I have learned that those who have not succeeded will be the group that will not accept their own failures. You have to apply yourself in anything that you do.

I understand why they require anyone with interest to pay for their own training.

I am a person with interity and I know she has helped many who in turned did not work at all or simply failed the course.

I will say that I am grateful to be able to work from home. I will also say that I am aware of the handful of companies that work from home. However, I also know many small IBO's who thought they knew it all and are no longer servicing because they thought had all the answers, they didn't pay attention.

  48. I would like to post this as the wife of 'Traveling Man' so others might realize the impact Alma and her lies have on families.

My husband found Alma's ad on craigslist and contacted her. Yes, she presents a great front and makes some pretty enticing promises. After spending approximately $1,000 on the required equipment (she conveniently fails to mention the hardware you are required to have and the antiquated software you are required to use), my husband spent hours and hours completing the training. This training was delivered by unskilled, unprofessional, often-times-barely understandable individuals. He finished the training with a 92%. The next step was the phone interview for a position. This consisted of two questions from an interviewer who spoke rapid-fire broken English - - almost identical to the indecipherable language with which Alma writes. He was not hired.

Alma is a master at building hopes and taking your money. She is also proving to be quite deft at hijacking a blog meant to present her as she truly is. The blog was most definitely not meant to function as a vehicle for her to promote her business.

From my point of view, Alma is a vicious, malicious fraud who feeds on the hopes and dreams of desperate people.

  49. Alma Wade, also known just as Alma, is a fictional character, the main antagonist, and a key figure in the F.E.A.R. first-person shooter horror video game series by Monolith Productions, introduced in F.E.A.R. in 2005. The mystery of Alma is the very core of the series.
Relatively little is known for certain about Alma Wade, but her presence is felt constantly throughout the games. She initially appears to the player as an eight-year-old girl wearing a red dress and has a disturbingly blank, mask-like face almost completely obscured by long black hair. In the final part of the first game (and some preceding visions), her appearance changes to that of a naked, emaciated young teenage woman. As Alma is/was a powerful psychic, it is never completely clear if Alma is real, or if she only exists in the minds of the people seeing her. Bloody footprints can be found in some places where she walks, and she is briefly visible on a CCTV monitor in the treatment plant, in the same room where Bill Moody was interrogated.

I am so thankful for this blog because Alma can't in no way, shape, or form be running a legitimate business with the way she has performed on this blog. Alma you have made yourself look like an immature character, and I find it very hard to believe that you have a graduate degree as your website states. In America, we have the right to a thing called freedom of speech which Traveling Man displayed. You had the right to come on this blog and defend your company with an adult debate, but you chose to act unprofessional, childish, and foolish. Traveling Man thanks for the blog and Alma thanks for unknowingly exposing yourself as an unprofessional fraud.

When I tried to ask questions she was loudly talking & being somewhat disrespectful. She never answered one question, she simply sent me back to her website. She appeared to be extremely bitter frustrated & angry. I can only assume the anger was from her broken english which I couldn't understand. I'm really interested in taking incoming calls at my home. Alma Wade
    Overview
The mystery around this character is the core part of F.E.A.R.'s horror element. She is a power psion and often appears to the player character, shortly after disappearing. It is unknown if they are visions due to the playable character's relation to Alma or if she really is there. Most of the time she appears as a little girl with black, long hair in a red dress, but later in the game she is seen in her physical, adult woman form.

    Background

Alma's childhood wasn't simple. She was a very powerful psychic and often had nightmares. It was the effect of the negative emotions around her, to which she was very sensitive. She is the daughter of Harlan Wade, who pioneered the Origin Project.

When Alma was seven, she was forced to participate in Armacham Technology Corporation's "Project Origin", with the aim of creating psionics capable of creating supersoldiers. Two days before her eighth birthday, she was put into an induced coma and locked in the Vault, a secure location in the origin facility. She was impregnated twice, the father being her own genes (test tube pregnancy). The first prototype; the Point Man was born when she was 15. Her second child, Paxton Fettel, was born when she was 16, and shortly before the closure of the project. After the project was closed, her life support was cut and she died six days later.

  56. It kind of sounds like you are upset about not being able to work from home. Either way just because you did well in the classroom it does not mean you are qualified to speak to a customer on behalf of any company. Excelling at book and classroom setting and understanding the material does not automatically qualify you to speak to someone regarding that material. Not everyone can do this work. Speaking to people takes great skill especially if you are trying to sell them something. I have no doubt you are very book smart but lack the interpersonal skills to work in the customer service industry this is why there is such a high turnover not everyone is cut out for it. But instead of accepting responsiblity for your short commings you want to blaim everyone else. No one forced you to buy new equipment, no one forced you to sign up and take any of the classes. Arise provides an option for those who can not commute or just work a traditional 40 hours, this type of opportunity requires sacrifice and complete dedication to work. As someone who has End Stage Renal Failure this opportunity has enabled me to work again but by making sacrifices not excuses, by accepting responsibility for my presentation and performance. Alma has always stood by me and has helped me develop and excel. She is straight forward and honest and the fact that she has over 500 agents under her care servicing different clients and still has the time to talk to us individually about anything is a testement to her great honest personality.

  57. Arise is a good company. You really have to want to succeed to make it on any at home job. If you want to just make money, you will fail. If you really put hard work into any job, you will succeed. I saw alot of posts on arise but I still applied anyways, If my college approves of Arise, I think i can too. I love working for them and they have a great training program for whatever company you choose to work for.

  59. Amazing that someone like Alma actually runs a business. Why in the world would she want anyone reading her retorts here? If I read a bad review and then a well thought out rebuttal done in a professional manner or even no rebuttal at all, I would take it with a grain of salt. Yet the responses from Alma here just make Tom's complaints extremely believable.

Funny how some people seem to succeed in spite of themselves.

They will investigate and if it is found this company is a fraud they will ban it from operating in your state and some states will bring criminal charges against it.

  62. Thank you so much for your blog. I read all of the comments and Alma's pitiful responses. I'm glad I decided to research this company before sending my resume. I'm sorry you had to go through this ordeal but because you chose to shed light on this shady company, you have saved so many people thousands of dollars. Thank you again for using your voice. And an even bigger thanks to Alma for exposing herself.

Message to Alma because i know you are reading everything on this blog: Alma, please get a life, and work on saving your soul... seriously. You have portrayed yourself as unprofessional, immature, and most of all an a$$hole. There is no way you sleep easy at night, no matter how well you are being paid. It's never too late to be a better person.

THANK YOU!!! so much for this blog, I just saw the Craigslist Ad and was about to send in my resume but decided to research the company first. You have saved me precious time and money both of which I cant afford to waste. I hope this blog brings you and your wife the good karma you deserve for exposing ALMA and saving the rest of us from her deception.

I'm glad I did my research...and glad you have all of this posted. One of my biggest pet peaves is broken english, written or spoken, in any customer service based industry. It is obvious this "company" is trying to prey on educated people desiring a legitimate opportunity. Thank you for saving me from a real head ache. I hope you succeed in your endeavor to be made whole. God Bless.

  70. I must say.... I feel your pain. I just experienced something I was not happy with AT ALL with this woman and her company. She rants and raves about being a Premier Partner, constantly sending emails about attending huddles; during times your are in training or servicing, hard to listen to for more than 30 minutes; because after a while its like sitting in a room locked up with charlie browns teacher.

Yes she gives some good pointers about servicing, however the straw that broke the camels back with me; is her avoidance of answering questions she is asked about your business with her company and the client. (so glad I found this out before I got more than two months in with her)

    1. You don't get paid for training. (which I can deal with)
    2. after sitting in training and finally servicing; you get a paycheck that is less than you expected; it is wrong and it is not for the time you ACTUALLY worked. so that tells me one or two things; you are keeping a good percentage of my check for your self and two; you are snatching my hours from under me.
    3. As stated in number two; I can't tell one way or the other because you have YET to send my invoice of what you paid me for.
    4. I haven't seen that bonus on that first check I was told I would get either

After asking multiple questions that went unanswered ALMA; and you didn't respond; I decided that what is best for me is to create my own IBO and say F(&* you.

I have moved on; and I will NOT be recommending ANYONE to join under you; and those clients I sent your way have already been emailed to not JOIN under your IBO.

You are a disgrace and pathetic.

And I am STILL waiting on that invoice I asked for about that $72 you sent me for 25 hours of my servicing time. Mrs. "you don't get paid if Avaya times out or" Mrs. I pay according to your call history in avaya; NOT by what your starmatic is showing(which shows logged hours and non posted hours(time you serviced by going over your selected time) of more than you paid me for and what I actually worked)

And you had the nerve to end your ONE LINE response in the first email with LOL... I don't see a damn thing funny when F(&(*ing with my money and my time. This is not a game for me; nor do I play about my WORK and getting duped by someone across several states. ONE response and have heard anything back.

But you got the MEMO didn't you. this CSP moved from under you. I refuse to be cheated by someone I don't know, understand, and refuses to RESPECT its agents, their time, hard work, and your AVOIDANCE of answering questions that concerns the agent...

THIS IS NOT A GAME....so stop treating people like DUMB ASS TOYS

BYE you will NOT BE MISSED; you are a disease in this business and you are a part of why people DO NOT TRUST LEGITIMATE CARING BUSINESS OWNERS/IBO'S or ARISE....your actions give ARISE a bad rep

    just scum

Tom, bless you and I hope something much better reaches you and you obtain true success, it is a shame that people prey on people that they think are WEAK and will just deal with their mess.... And that is evident by all those comments that witch left on your comment thread; her and her team under the FAKE accounts.

  71. Holy shitballs this is the funniest yet saddest blog I have ever seen. First off Tom thanks for blowing the top off of this company. I too applied on Craigslist and today got the email to log on for one of the sessions. I always always research every company before I go any further with the interview process. My resume was so impressive they had to have me. Funny how AWI sent me the email at 3 saying at 5 I had to log on to webinar. Piss poor planning first strike. Reading a grown ass woman blasting a individual on his own blog is 2nd strike. I can not believe that Alma that is was telling the world about this gentlemens testing results...last time I checked that is to be confidential. Everyone who has been taken advantage of by this company needs to report them to the BBB and take this a step further and contact Barbara Walters, Sam Elliot to do 20/20 on this company to expose the deciet...yes I know that Barbara and Sam no longer do 20/20 but it was funny in the moment.

PEOPLE READING THIS AT NO POINT EVER EVER EVER DO YOU PAY TO WORK FOR A COMPANY. I dont care if you are ok for paying for your background check you should never ever pay to work..that's why you work for a company they pay you for your time.

I hope everyone has found a job that is actually real and paying them what they are worth...goodluck everyone.

  80. I have worked for AWI for nearly a year. In the beginning I wasn't worried about if it was a scam or not because I had a fall back plan. One year later I am still here. Arise is a wonderful company to work for but AWI, well you see the above post. I started noticing my pay was different from what I calculated. Spoke with Alma about it and she stated that I get paid by talk time which I know. My question to her was how can you honestly tell me that when I schedule 40 hrs per week sometimes 50, we get paid bi weekly(1st and 15th), my pay is only for 19 hrs, how can you tell me that honestly looks right to you. I have been fighting Alma for my money and still fighting. I currently am not a call taker anymore and now on a different time clock system and money still being taken. This is illegal and for this reason I am leaving AWI. I will try any and everything to get her audited by the IRS, BBB and EEOC. I will not call her out of her name but she knows that she is wrong. Furthermore when contacting her she does not respond to emails or calls but if I call from a number she doesn't know she quickly picks up.....SCAM ARTIST....................I have started my own company and now my own IBO due to the misconduct

  87. I already sent my resume and got an email back from Alma, the website is so schetchy I thought right away. Here's what I found 'off' with the site: http://www.awienterprises.com

    1) "Headquarters" building picture doesn't even look like it would say
"AWI ENTERPRISES" - of course you can't really tell because it's blurred, a reputable company as Alma tries to instill in you would surely use better quality for their Headquarter's building.

    2) The overall layout of the site is as unprofessional looking/sounding as Alma herself. Anyone could copy and paste google images into a site with no design and the appeal of a word document.

    3) "Daily Enhancement Sessions with the CEO herself please text (720) 480 5086" One word - "FRAUD!!!".

    4) "Here at AWI Entreprises we do not accept any fees to join our company". - Clearly no one agrees.

    5) "Attention: There is a malicious blog from an agent whom was our CSP and failed two certification courses and has created this blog to express his frustrations. Unfortunately he blames his inability to be certified on AWI despite us paying for his second training course. Failure of course certification is based on your ability and efficiency on the client you choose. It is also your sole responsibility to have the requisite equipment to service our clients. Furthermore, there is no guarentee you will be certified with any client." Obviously she is very concerned about this blog - she mentioned it on her website despite already making herself sound like a fool on here.

Thank you for posting this blog, you've saved many I'm sure from going through this scam.

  93. For the record Arise is the company that services (IBO's) to contract for their clients, AWI is an IBO (Independent Business Owner) Arise contracts tons of IBO's if you don't like Alma, you don't have to work for her, there are a ton of IBO's that will hire you to work for Arise contracted companies. You are considered business owners, so you pay for backround and training and you do not get paid for training, you are investing in your own company so to speak, Arise is a company that services other business owners its not a job, you are not employees. AWI is just one of many IBO's you can work for with Arise, if you are looking for work from home Arise can provide you that and AWI (Alma) doesnt have to be involved you can find another IBO to help you, just look up virtual staffing or some of the people on here said they have their own company you can just go under them. Arise, is not AWI (Alma)

  94. Alma will pretend to not know what you asked in a email you send her. Of course this leads to her never answering your question. She then barks orders for you to sign up for a client or you are a failure. The she will go from a negative ninny to calling you sis and God Bless, sometimes in the same broken English text or email. She is a real nut case. I am soo glad I never worked a day for her. Thanks for this blog.

  96. The whole work from home idea is good (if you don't mind spending over $1,000 to have what you wouldn't consider a job as you're only contract) when coming from ARISE but AWI on the other hand is no bueno! Everything that was stated about Alma is TRUE! From the beginning to the end.

She promised me a Management position due to really good performance with my client. To this day I am unsure of what exactly I would be managing as Alma handles just about everything herself. And I never became this Manager she spoke of. Alma will call you on 4 hour meetings many times throughout the week and you DO NOT get paid for it! Alma knows that she doesn't want to pay the CSPs the money that is due to them so she calls for huddles all the time.

The fact that MY money goes to ALMA 1st, then to my account is frightening in itself. The pay is already awful. You have to slave many hours to make anything and some times you never know if ALMA will even pay you correctly. If you look closely on your Direct Deposit Form, it mentions that you are giving AWI the right to withdraw funds from your account at anytime. That is not right!!! What legitimate company does that? If an error occured on your pay, they would just deduct the difference from your next pay period.

HELL NO TO AWI ENTERPRISES, ALMA, JEFF, DANIEL, AND THE OTHERS!!!!!!

  99. I so wish I had found this blog before I worked for AWI. I am now one of their victims :( I quit my nice paying, 9-5 to do this work form home job; as I am needed home for my son who has a disability.

AWI said they would pay for my classes, so no cost to me, which they did but then took it out of my first paycheck without informing me. Although I did find this in the Contract (but this was never mentioned nor pointed out). Since they paid for it I did not get a receipt of the charges. But kept an email of what the promo fee was for that class the day AWI paid it. Yet they charged me well over the promo fee. I confirmed with other classmates that they paid the promo fee as well, so was no way I should be paying more. Months later, still have not been reimbursed for the over charge. As they say I have to show the receipt...but I didn't pay for it so of course I do not have that.

I passed both the certification and production for one of the the longest non paid trainings Arise has. Was about two months of no pay!

I was being paid $11.40/hr but never got paid for the full hours I serviced the client. Even with screenshots of my hours! One time Alma tried to to tell me that since I did not do my required hours (which happened 3 weeks out of 11; due to their system issues) my pay went down to $9/hr. This is not stated anywhere in any SOW or contract! Still have not been paid for hours I worked.

AWI also charged me a fee, that Arise charges them for each CSP (but Arise charges it once a month, AWI charges it twice a month). On one occasion I worked a late shift at the end of the month...I live in PST, my hours that day got split as they showed in EST so it looked as if worked the 31st and 1st....in which AWI charged me the fee twice!!!

Alma said that after training I needed to have a one-on-one meeting with her. Yet she didn't show to her own meetings, several times! When I would text her to find out where she was, I would get a rescheduled date and time. One such time I had to release hours I was suppose to work to meet her, yet she didn't show again!

In the beginning AWI would have many, many weekly meetings. They were useless, and even though you are an Independent Contractor, Alma acts as if they ALL are mandatory. When I did try to attend the dates and times had been changed and I was not informed. Alma would claim she had sent an email of the update, but I looked and I never received such emails. This happened a few times.

Now that I have become my own IBO and not with AWI anymore, Alma is trying to claim I owe an ETF of $500 (this is not a cell phone contact sheesh). Again not stated anywhere in the contract I signed.
